How To Make Buttermilk Pudding (Simple Recipe)
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons of powdered gelatin
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, seeded (or substitute 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract)
- 2 cups of buttermilk
- Jam or jelly to serve, optional
Instructions
- Combine the gelatin with two tablespoons of water during a tiny bowl and put aside.
- Place the cream, sugar, and flavourer seeds and pod (or flavoring if using) into atiny low pan over medium heat. Once the sugar has dissolved take away from heat and add the gelatin to the nice and cozy cream mixture. Stir till the gelatin has dissolved.
- Once the cream has cooled to temperature, add the milk and stir. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to catch any bits of unmelted gelatin.
- Pour the mixture into ramekins, concerning 1/2 cup per ramekin (the pudding is incredibly rich). cowl the ramekins with wrapping and chill to line for a minimum of four hours. Serve along with your favorite jam, jelly, marmalade, fruit, or straight up.
